Give HEALTH for the Holidays

Every year the holidays come in a flurry busy-ness and leave behind a wake of clutter. It’s all too easy to get swept up in it. We spend these precious weeks of early winter scouring the catalogs and racing through the malls trying to find better and better presents to wrap up and give to our loved ones. This frenzy of consumption often leaves us feeling a little empty and left with a pile of STUFF.

But nobody really wants more STUFF…we want more LIFE…more energy, more freedom and more joy.

We want to connect with our loved ones and feel the support of our families and communities. We want our lives to get better and better each year.

The only way we can experience this change is by making different choices. If we all go along with the same old holiday habits, then the cycle of consumption just keeps going…and it winds up dragging us down. We find ourselves struggling to pull up our own bootstraps make a New Year’s resolution and get “back on track” while we clean up the big mess that the holidays left behind.

You can break free from this old pattern and be the change you want to inspire in the world by making some simple mindful choices this year.

Right here, right now as you’re making choices about how you’re going to celebrate, what you’re going to eat and drink and what you’re going to buy for presents…you have the chance to make a different choice…you can choose to give HEALTH for the holidays.

Here are four creative ways to do just that…

Giving Health for the Holidays

This year you can make an active choice to support and promote health and increase the quality of life of your loved ones with the gifts you give. Instead of wrapping up boxes filled with more STUFF for your friends and family you can give them supportive, life affirming experiences. Here are some ideas to get you started in thinking outside of the box.

  1. Make a weekly exercise commitment to someone you want to spend more time with. This could be a weekly walk in the woods, a work out at the gym or an exercise class like dance, pilates or yoga. Buy the gym membership or pay for the classes in advance if you’re able to and then commit to doing it together.
  2. Give a gift certificate for a massage or a day at a natural spa. Passes to a local hotsprings or meditation retreat also make excellent gifts.
  3. Get creative with healthy themes to replace the old ideas of gift baskets filled with store-bought cookies and meaningless trinkets. Exotic healthy ingredients and the recipes that go with them can make a great basket. Or nourishing essential oils and luxurious bath supplies make a gift that inspires relaxation and self-care. Here are some great ideas to get you started.
  4. Inspire your loved ones by share learning opportunities that have made a positive impact on your life. Give a life changing book, a meditation CD, an inspiring DVD series or registration to a program that will encourage healing and growth for your loved ones. Our ebooks, detox plans and the upcoming Holiday Recovery Cleanse we’ll be holding in January are excellent ways to spread the healthy inspiration and support.

We’ve made that last one super easy for you by discounting all of our ebooks and detox plans for the holidays. We’re even offering a special Earlybird discount on the Holiday Recovery Cleanse.

When you give the gift of your own inspiration and share the support you’ve found, you become closer with the people in your life and they get to benefit from the healthy support you’ve already found.

What this means for you is that you’ll be able to enjoy a long and healthy life of learning and growth with the people you love most.
